POST CARNIVAL LITTER PICK

Thank you to everyone who helped with this litter pick. With the good weather on the day unfortunately there appeared to be more litter than usual, but many hands made light work!

 

LOCAL COMPETITION

Once again we are organising our Local Competition this year. The five categories are:

1 Private gardens/balconies/window boxes visible from the road.

2 Nursing/Care Homes

3 Tourism - including accommodation providers

4 Public Houses/Restaurants

5 Commercial Premises

Judging will take place on Wednesday 30 July 2008 by independent judges invited by Ilkley in Bloom.

CRITERIA FOR ILKLEY IN BLOOM COMPETITION

What the Judges will be looking for on Judging Day - Wednesday 30 July 2008:

1 Visual impact of display. Display can be in pots, baskets, containers, etc or garden planted.

2 Quality of plants that make the display outstanding and well looked after.

3 The area should be weed and litter-free.

4 Some plants should show all year round interest.
